Meditative Drawing Exercise

Updated: Apr 7, 2020

This is a very simple way to meditate while making a Mandala. All you will need is any piece of paper and a pen/pencil. This exercise is about the process not the outcome. The process is repetitive and slow, which allows you to get in a zone, pause or slow your thoughts, and thereby is meditative. It is a powerful, simple, and free way to go on a mental vacation.

Steps:

-Find paper and pen/pencil/marker

-Mark a dot in roughly the center of the paper

-Choose a shape( I chose a lotus petal) could be circle, triangle, wave, dot...

-Draw that shape 5 times around your dot, rotating paper as you go.

- Slowly draw that same shape around in a circle, getting larger and large as you go around. You do not need to worry about symmetry or evenness...just repeat your chosen shape.

-Eventually you will come close to the edges of your paper.

- You can be done here, or add decorative border or color to your Meditative Mandala.

ENJOY
