Be a Pen Pal

Updated: Apr 10, 2020

Everyone loves snail mail!

Human connection and community mean a lot, even more so now. Being a pen pal gives us the opportunity to bring some joy to someone's day and to have a little happiness delivered to our own mailboxes. This could be in the form of a kind letter, some inspired artwork, or other creative endeavors of the imagination. Because senior citizens are such vital members of our communities, please consider partnering up with a senior. Parents and Teachers: This would be an excellent activity for your kiddos!

We will continue posting weekly art activities, writing ideas, and the like for inspiration. Look for them on our blog. It is our aim to keep established pen pal chains going and to continue creating new pen pal connections. Starting a discussion (before setting up any correspondence arrangements) will help us to find a good pen pal match for you, respect the privacy of others, and keep things safe.

Please email Danielle or Sarah at virtualevermont@gmail.com, subject line "Be a Pen Pal." Please include your name and a little bit about yourself: if you would like to be paired with a senior citizen, hobbies, interests, how you are maintaining wellness in mind, body, and spirit during this time, or anything else you would like us to know in order to best place you.
